Guild Wars 2 - Exklusives Interview mit Guild Wars 2 Lead Designer
OnlineWelten: Is there a time limit for the "Aegis" benefit? For example, 2 minutes before the battle I could cast it so my allies are protected in battle while I am also protected myself because the cool down is gone. Same thing with "Justice,” of course.
Jon: These things do have a time limit, which is still subject to change as well. However, when you cast it you also receive the benefit as you are technically one of your allies.
OnlineWelten: Is there a special resource for the guardian? Like adrenaline for the warrior or life energy for the necromancer.
Jon: The virtues are the guardian’s resource. He manages their benefits to himself vs. their benefits for allies. This is really the core of a support player, and cements why we believe these types of players will enjoy this profession.
OnlineWelten: How long does a spirit weapon fight alongside with the guardian?
Jon: Numbers are always changing, but I can say that the spirit weapon lasts for a set duration and not very long, and it ends as soon as you command the spirit weapon to do its special ability.
OnlineWelten: How can a spirit weapon be commanded to do something? Is it like the hero-flagging in Nightfall?
Jon: These are toggle skills. Hit it once to summon, hit it again to command it. Much like necromancer minions, the weapon will target its ability based on the guardian’s own target.
OnlineWelten: How big is the difference between the defensive capabilities of the guardian and the other classes?
Jon: The difference can’t really be measured, as they are all effective defensively in their own ways. They are just different and depend on the situation.
