Guild Wars 2 - Special
Errungenschaften, Erfolge und Aktivitäten
Activities
Activities are mini games that take place in cities. They can range from a string of objects that each produce a note when interacted with (allowing players to “play” music collaboratively) to full on mini PvP games such as snowball fights and bar brawls. Activities have no level restrictions and place everyone on an equal footing so that all players can participate.
Achievements
Achievements cover a wide range of player activity and serve as a gauge for what a player has accomplished in the game. They also give players a way to measure their in game accomplishments against those of their friends. Through earning achievements players will be able to unlock titles that they can display beneath their names.
Feats
Feats are pieces of content that reward the player for accomplishing simple combat related tasks each play session. You earn feats for doing things such as killing a certain number of creatures, going on multiple kill streaks and killing multiple types of creatures. Feats reset on a daily basis and are one of the mechanics that we use to help casual players keep pace with more hardcore players (the way rest experience might in other games).
Maps & Travel
Our map travel system remains quick and easy to use. As players explore the world they will unlock waypoints. When a player opens up their map they will see all of the waypoints they’ve unlocked and can instantly travel to any of them for a small fee. In addition we have Asura Gates that allow players to freely travel to places they haven’t yet explored. For instance, a series of Asura Gates connect the main racial cities so players should find it easy to join friends who happen to be playing as a different race.
Personality (formerly called diplomacy)
The personality system allows players who want to roleplay the personality of their character a method for doing so. We measure three major personality categories; ferocity, dignity, and charm. Whenever a character talks to an NPC they may have a chance to say something that corresponds to one of these categories. As they speak to NPC’s the game keeps track of what they’ve said and assigns them a personality based on the mix of responses that they’ve given. For example someone who tends to use both charm and ferocity a lot would have the personality of “scoundrel”. Depending on a character’s personality certain NPC’s in the game will react to them differently and they will also be able to take certain actions that would otherwise have been unavailable. For example a “barbaric” who is trying to get information from someone may have the option to “punch them in the face”.
