Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising - Interview
Exklusives Interview mit Stieg Hedlund

OnlineWelten: How is the balance between group and solo content? Will players get a benefit from team play? Or will guilds get additional, special features?

Stieg Hedlund: While squads will extend a player's ability to solo more challenges, ultimately gameplay will be tuned against groups. Groups will benefit significantly from the interplay of their abilities in ways that solo players cannot take advantage of nearly as well. As to additional special features for guilds, that's something we get a lot of requests for and we consider them very seriously.

OnlineWelten: Can you tell us some details about your plans for the PvP system in Gods & Heroes? Will there be a ladder system? Will the players be rewarded for the PvP fights?

Stieg Hedlund: Those are things that we intend to incorporate after ship, but we're very committed to them.

OnlineWelten: What else can players do besides training their minions and fighting? Is crafting and player economy available in Gods & Heroes?

Stieg Hedlund: Again this is material that we intend to bring into the game after ship.

OnlineWelten: Can you describe how the quests work in Gods & Heroes? How many quests will the game offer with the launch and which quest styles? Are there epic quests as well?

Stieg Hedlund: There are quite a few quests; I don't have the exact number but it's over 1,400 quests for sure. We have a lot of variety in these, civic quests are things you do in the service of Rome and her citizens, god quests, obviously enough are tasks the gods demand that you carry out on their behalves, and there are heroic quests, that might equate to what you think of as "epic".

Der Truppenkampf mit eigenen Minions ist ein Kern-Feature in Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising.

OnlineWelten: What is the long-term motivation for the players? What can high-level players do in Gods & Heroes?

Stieg Hedlund: We've created some great elder-game instanced playspaces that require a high degree of cooperation and coordination to pull off successfully. These in turn provide some very cool rewards including gear, minions and god powers.

OnlineWelten: The screenshots are looking fantastic. What are the system requirements to be able to play Gods & Heroes?

Stieg Hedlund: The current target system specs are:

P4 1.7 Ghz or equivalent
512 MB RAM
10 GB free HDD space (this will probably need to increase)
Pixel Shader 1.1 compatible video card with 128 MB
Internet connection

But this may change as we move through Beta to Launch.

OnlineWelten: Finally here is your chance to aim some words at our community.

Stieg Hedlund: Gods and Heroes offers a really different type of MMO play, with visceral combat, highly dynamic squad combat, and its system of gods and god powers, all in a great-looking setting unlike anything you've seen. Check it out, you'll be glad you did.

Thank you for the interview.
